GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Clinicians are responsible for the direct and indirect services to behavioral health clients eligible for treatment in the Women & Children residential program. They are licensed by the State of Connecticut and credentialed by the agency to assess, diagnose, and treat clients upon approval of the Manager of Women & Children Program and Director of Residential Services. Direct services include assessments interviews, treatment planning, individual, family and group therapy. Indirect services may include supervision, rounds, case conferences, insurance authorizations and documentation associated with client care. Clinicians work with a multidisciplinary treatment team to help clients engaged in the Women & Children Program to achieve their recovery and parenting goals. This position required flexibility with schedule and may include evening or weekend hours.

EXAMPLES OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide comprehensive evaluation, treatment planning, discharge planning and crisis intervention to clients engaged in the Women & Children Program.

2. Facilitate group, individual and family therapy sessions utilizing evidenced based and research driven curriculum and interventions on topics related to Substance Use Disorders, Mental Health, Trauma and Parenting.

3. Present clinical information for each client on caseload on a weekly basis to the treatment team in rounds. Translate treatment team recommendations to client and assist her with following through with referrals and recommendations as agreed upon by client.

4. Participate in and advocate for our clients in family meetings facilitated by The Department of Children and Families and other case conferences that involve clients’ other resources and programs. 

5. Abide by the agency and credentialing body’s Code of Ethics and participate actively in advocacy work.

6. Develop effective networking relationships with outside contractors, referral sources and community agencies. Engage in ongoing marketing of programs and represent the agency at community events and meetings as assigned by Management.

7. Organize and present time sensitive clinical information to managed care companies for the purposes of treatment authorizations and continued stay review.

8. Provide written documentation on client’s status to clients, referral sources, Department of Corrections, Court Support Services, Department of Children & Families, Employers, etc.

9. Assist with the day-to-day residential component of the program. May include supervising smoke breaks, supervised drug screening, supervision of Self- Administration of Medication, transportation and supporting clients in completing their activities of daily living (ADLs) for themselves and their child.

10. Participate in supervision, team meetings, rounds, agency committees and work groups as assigned by management. May be required to participate in trainings (both on site and off site) as determined by the Director of Residential Services and/or Vice President of Adult Services.

11. Provide coverage for coworkers during time off and to help ensure required residential staffing levels are met at all times. Work with Program Manager and/or Director of Residential Services to ensure all standards for services delivery are met for each client on a weekly basis.

12. Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

A master’s degree in Social Work along with a Connecticut State license from the Department of Public Health (LMSW or LCSW). A Connecticut license as a Professional Counselor or Marriage and Family Therapist (LPC-A, LMFT-A) with experience in working with clients diagnosed with substance use disorders will be considered. L.A.D.C is not required but welcomed in addition to primary licensure. Training preferred on the following topics; Treatment Criteria for Addictive, Substance-Related, and Co-Occurring Conditions (ASAM), Co-occurring disorders, including prevalence, signs/symptoms, assessment, treatment and the impact of one’s own attitudes/beliefs on the delivery of services and the use of naloxone in response to an opioid overdose. Valid driver’s license with clean driving record is required and must be CPR and First Aid Certified.

Salary : $62,593 - $72,141
