POSITION TITLE:                 Crisis Clinical Supervisor (MCIS)

PROGRAMS:                         Mobile Crisis Intervention Service

Working Hours: Flexibility to work day and evening shifts; must be able to work Friday 2PM-10PM.

 

Mobile Crisis Intervention Services (MCIS) is a program for youth experiencing a behavioral or mental health crisis that is accessed by calling 211. The program is comprised of trained mental health professionals across the state who can respond immediately to youth in emotional or behavioral health crisis by phone or face-to-face at their home or in the community.

 

 All staff are required to work their assigned schedule on site but may be asked to shift/alter this in response to high workflow time periods. The Crisis Clinical Supervisor must work a minimum of two agency observed holidays each calendar year. The Crisis Clinical Supervisor will have a primary set of working hours that equal a full work week of 40 hours; this may be shifted due to programmatic need or to support coverage of other supervisors.

 

 

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Crisis Clinical Supervisor is responsible for supervising the clinical work and safety planning among MCIS team members. The Crisis Clinical Supervisor is available to consult with crisis team members for decisions related to admissions, triage assessments, case flow and assignments, optimizing workflow, abuse/neglect reports, case management, safety planning, treatment recommendations and discharge planning. Additionally, the Crisis Clinical Supervisor supports the day-to-day management (staff supervision and assists in program development and implementation); this may result in a primary assignment in either MCIS . The Crisis Clinical Supervisor is involved in all Crisis Services management discussions.

 

The Crisis Clinical Supervisor is also responsible for direct services with children, adolescents and their families including but not limited to crisis evaluation/assessment; coordination of care with existing providers, case and care management; brief intensive therapies; de-escalation; record keeping; as well as collaboration with other professionals, team members and related community services (including consultation and/or community and/or school placements). The Crisis Clinical Supervisor is assigned a primary schedule that is inclusive of onsite hours during primary work assignment and some remote hours; this schedule may be flexed or changed

 

according to programmatic need. The Crisis Clinical Supervisor will be required to cover shifts outside their primary onsite schedule during periods of high client need. The Crisis Clinical Supervisor is assigned to carry a company provided smartphone and responds to all calls for assistance either by telephone or in person (as clinically indicated).

EXAMPLES OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provide clinical oversight and supervision to /MCIS team members who work directly with youth and families in the clinic or in the community.
  2. Consult with MCIS clinicians related to client safety planning, risk assessment and provide support needed to deescalate or reduce risk.
  3. To participate in the MCIS management team around tasks associated with program implementation, training, onboarding, data collection/verification/analysis and documentation.
  4. To review and approve all clinical documentation for assigned crisis staff to ensure adherence with corporate compliance standards for diagnostic evaluations, treatment plans, safety and discharge/disposition plans, including review of clinical content, formulation and recommendations within the appropriate timelines.
  5. Support the workflow and daily operations of the MCIS.
  6. Support the training and on-boarding of new hires for both crisis programs.
  7. Provide licensure and clinical supervision to associate level clinicians when applicable and as assigned.
  8. Provide comprehensive crisis evaluations, treatment plans and treatment of children, adolescents and families in times of high client need.
  9. Assess and implement crisis stabilization plans that include immediate tasks for crisis management and connection to clinically indicated resources and services in times of high client need.
  10. To complete clinical documentation within required timelines to ensure appropriate and ethical care. Per diem clinicians are expected to complete documentation, such as diagnostic evaluations and case management notes, before leaving their shift for the day.
Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have the ability to maintain the utmost confidentiality of both agency and client matters. Must understand and be able to display the clinical knowledge and expertise necessary to perform crisis intervention. Must be able to display knowledge and expertise as it relates to the populations served by Wellmore, including bilingual and bicultural needs. Must be capable of working as a part of a team and be able to effectively communicate with both families and professionals (in writing and verbally). Must have comfort with navigating and documenting within an electronic health record and use communication platforms, such as Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Outlook. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that meets the needs of the both the UCC and MCIS programs. Must be able to display an understanding of the diverse cultural communities prominent in greater Waterbury, Danbury and Torrington communities.

Working knowledge of the greater Waterbury/Danbury/Torrington areas is preferred. Bi-lingual (Spanish-English) is preferred.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

A Master’s degree in marriage and family therapy, social work, counseling and a Connecticut license as a LMFT, LCSW, LPC or a Doctorate in psychology and a Connecticut license as a psychologist is required. Two years’ post graduate clinical experience working with children, adolescents or families is required; four years’ experience is preferred. Experience with supervision is required; experience with training/onboarding and supportive data management/analysis is preferred. Experience in crisis management and family therapies are also preferred.

 

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION

Must have a full CT license as a mental health provider (ie., LCSW, LPC, LMFT).

Salary : $82,000 - $86,000
