Contract Accountant – Balance Sheet Reconciliations
Location: Fairport, NY (Hybrid)
Duration: 6-Month Contract
Position Overview:
We are seeking a hands-on Contract Accountant to support a six-month balance sheet reconciliation and account clean-up project with an established global technology company in Fairport, NY.
The ideal candidate will have 5 years of accounting experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to investigate discrepancies, resolve outstanding items, and support month-end and year-end close activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and clean up balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Investigate and resolve outstanding reconciling items and account discrepancies.
- Analyze general ledger balances and underlying transactions.
- Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation.
- Support month-end close, year-end close, and audit preparation.
- Document reconciliation procedures and collaborate with accounting teams.
Qualifications
- 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in corporate accounting.
- Strong experience with balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger accounting.
- Ability to independently investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and Excel proficiency.
- SAP experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
