Position Summary
The Resident Care Director (RCD) provides overall clinical leadership and management for the resident care department in our assisted living and memory care community. The RCD is responsible for coordinating all aspects of resident health and wellness, supervising care staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and partnering with residents and families to deliver high-quality, person-centered care.
Spanish-speaking bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are strongly preferred to effectively communicate with Spanish-speaking residents, families, and team members.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, organize, and direct the daily operations of the resident care department in accordance with community policies and state regulations.
Oversee development, implementation, and ongoing review of individualized service plans for assisted living and memory care residents.
Supervise, coach, and evaluate nurses, med techs, and caregivers, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality, resident-centered care.
Conduct or oversee resident assessments at move‑in, after significant changes of condition, and at regular intervals as required by state rules.
Partner closely with physicians, home health and hospice providers, pharmacies, and other external partners to coordinate resident care.
Monitor clinical systems including medication management, incident reporting, infection control, and quality assurance; implement corrective actions as needed.
Serve as primary clinical contact for residents and families, including Spanish-speaking families, providing education, updates, and support.
Ensure appropriate staffing levels, participate in hiring decisions, and support onboarding, training, and competency validation of care staff.
Participate in community leadership meetings, contribute to budget planning for the care department, and support occupancy and retention efforts.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and ensure readiness for state surveys and other regulatory reviews.
Qualifications
Current, unencumbered RN or LPN license in the state of Florida (per community requirement; RN preferred where applicable).
Minimum 2–3 years of clinical experience in assisted living, memory care, long‑term care, or a related senior care setting; prior leadership/supervisory experience strongly preferred.
Strong knowledge of state regulations governing assisted living and memory care, including service planning, medication management, and documentation standards.
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a multidisciplinary care team in a fast-paced environment.
Spanish-speaking bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred; ability to communicate effectively in Spanish with residents and families is a key asset in this role.
Excellent communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
Solid computer skills and comfort with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
