Opportunity for a Licensed Psychologist – Child & Adolescent

Wellington-Alexander Center
Scottsdale, AZ Part Time
POSTED ON 5/22/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 6/18/2026

Wellington-Alexander Center, an intensive dyslexia intervention center, is seeking a licensed, early-career psychologist to join our transdisciplinary team. This is an opportunity to work in a unique clinical setting where psychological services are fully integrated on a team providing language, reading, sensory-motor, and executive function skill development treatment to children with dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, ADHD, Anxiety, and ASD.

The Alexander Integrated Method (AIM) was developed by developmental pediatrician Ann Alexander, MD, in the 1970’s and has helped thousands of children reshape the neuronal hubs in their brains to support phonology, cognition, motor, and reading skills. Time on campus could be 12-30 hours per week. This role is an independent contractor position in North Scottsdale, Arizona, with flexibility as to times and days.

The psychologist would:

•      Conduct Executive Function Screening & Intervention to determine readiness for our 25-hour-per-week intensive treatment program. Implement executive function pre- and post-screens for our patients. Provide executive function intervention using cognitive skill-coaching strategies and rhythmic-coordinative movement activities developed by Lynne Kenney, PsyD. You do not need to be an expert, as training and case consultation will be provided.

•      Provide Diagnostic clarification for co-occurring conditions such as ADHD, anxiety, ASD, and other skills and challenges that may affect learning outcomes.

•      Utilize digital therapeutics where needed, including: Meludia, Play Attention, ACTIVATE, in-Time, Vital Neuro, and The Listening Program.

•      Provide Cognitive and Social Skill Development Therapy, supporting children and families as they navigate the social, emotional, anxiety, and behavioral dimensions of learning disabilities.

•      Transdisciplinary collaboration, working alongside speech language therapists, occupational therapists, and other professionals to develop and refine individualized treatment plans.

•      Parent consultation and education, helping families understand assessment results, implement strategies at home, and advocate effectively for their child’s needs in school settings.

This role is well-suited for a psychologist with training or interest in developmental psychology, learning disabilities, ADHD, ASD, and executive function. The Center’s developmentally based, research-driven approach provides an environment in which clinical work is informed by science and delivered with the intensity and individualization needed to produce meaningful, lasting change.

We are a neuroaffirming, child-centered, family-supporting practice run more like a family than a corporation. Goodness of fit would call for a psychologist who enjoys play, physical movement, musicality, collaboration, kindness, and joy. Training is provided. Graduation from an APA-approved clinical program and licensure in the State of Arizona are required.

Qualifications

  • Expertise in Psychology and Psychological Assessment, specifically with children and adolescents
  • Understanding of developmental and educational challenges, including language-learning and dyslexia
  • Ability to effectively collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
  • Advanced degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Psychology
  • State licensure as a Licensed Psychologist in Arizona
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with children, parents, and caregivers
  • Experience or background in developmental psychology, neurodiversity, speech-language, occupational therapy, or music is an advantage
