Qualifications of K-2 Teacher

● An organized, well-rounded, engaging individual with the ability to interact joyfully with
students, families, and colleagues
● Effectiveness age-appropriately and engagingly cultivating learning
● Ability to age-appropriately manage classrooms
● Knowledge of Reggio Emilia philosophy
● Able to teach multiple grades/ages in the same classroom, with skills in differentiating curriculum and instruction for varied abilities and ages
● High-quality, professional, and effective written and verbal communication skills
● Bachelors or Masters degree in Education or related field
Responsibilities of K-2 Teacher
● Maintain a positive learning environment for all.
● Collaborate in maintaining safety and security.
● Contribute to student-related operations, for example, monitoring recess.
● Write narrative reports in any given subject matter to communicate student performance to
parents/guardians.
● Communicate with parents which may include, but is not limited to daily or weekly snapshots, portfolios, progress reports, , and messaging
● Communicate with parents about plans and progress.
● Work dynamically with students in varied-structured small groups and collaborate with co-teachers in sharing teaching responsibilities fairly
● Prepare open-ended lesson plans, provocations, and investigations for the students to take part in.
● Participate in on-going training and professional development.
● Mentor others in our practices and approach to education.
● Attend weekly faculty and team meetings and make meaningful contributions to them.
● Other duties before, during, or after school, as assigned
