Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated In-Home Caregiver to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in caregiving and a strong understanding of care plans, medication assistance, and the unique needs of clients in various settings, including nursing homes and home health environments. This role is crucial for enhancing the quality of life for our clients while ensuring their safety and comfort.
Duties
- Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Assist with medications as prescribed and monitor client health conditions.
- Follow individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Assist with mobility and transfers to ensure client safety.
- Support clients with meal preparation and nutritional needs.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in client conditions.
- Engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and social workers to coordinate care.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or in a similar caregiving role is preferred.
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols and care plan implementation.
- Familiarity with dementia care practices and long-term care environments is a plus.
- Certification in CPR or willingness to obtain certification upon hire.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families.
- Ability to handle physical demands of the job, including lifting and assisting clients as needed.
- A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in social work or caregiving is advantageous.
- Able to be around dogs and/or cats.
