Position Summary
The Community Liaison serves as the primary connection between Wellfound Behavioral Health Hospital, the surrounding community and the greater Washington region. This role is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with referral sources, healthcare providers, social service agencies, and community organizations. The Community Liaison will promote the hospital’s mission of providing accessible, high-quality behavioral health services while increasing awareness of available programs and ensuring seamless transitions of care for patients.
Key Responsibilities
Community Engagement & Outreach
- Develop and maintain relationships with local hospitals, clinics, schools, first responders, social service agencies, and advocacy groups.
- Represent Wellfound at community meetings, health fairs, conferences, and public events.
- Serve as a resource to the community regarding behavioral health services, referral processes, and hospital programs.
Referral Development & Marketing
- Identify and cultivate new referral sources to support census growth and service utilization.
- Provide ongoing communication and support to referral partners to ensure high levels of satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the hospital leadership team on outreach strategies, promotional materials, and campaigns.
- Collect and analyze referral trends to present to leadership
Internal Collaboration
- Partner with clinical and administrative teams to identify trends in community needs and recommend program improvements.
- Share feedback from community partners with hospital leadership to guide service delivery and outreach strategies.
- Assist with staff training on community engagement and customer service best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Healthcare Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in healthcare, behavioral health, community outreach, marketing, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of behavioral health services, referral systems, and community resources in Pierce County and the greater Puget Sound region.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and public speaking skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and travel within the community.
- Valid Washington State driver’s license, auto insurance, reliable transportation and a clean driving record are required.
