About the role:
Wellfit Technologies is seeking an experienced Finance Marketplace (FMP) Architect to lead the design and implementation of scalable, resilient, and modern back-end systems that power our Finance Marketplace platform. This role is central to shaping the technical strategy for FMP, with a strong emphasis on C#, .NET, and scalable architectural patterns. The FMP Architect will collaborate with product, engineering, and leadership teams to drive integrations, scalability, and innovation across the marketplace.
This is a critical leadership role requiring not just deep technical expertise, but also the ability to rally teams, communicate effectively, and help Wellfit evolve toward a best-in-class, modern microservices architecture.
Key Responsibilities:
Architecture & Design
- Architect scalable, secure, and performant back-end systems to support the Finance Marketplace platform.
- Lead architectural strategy, balancing the hybrid environment of monolithic and microservices systems while charting a path toward a modern, service-oriented architecture.
- Ensure system scalability to handle large volumes of transactions, integrations, and marketplace growth.
Integrations:
- Design and oversee integrations with external lenders, financial partners, and healthcare stakeholders.
- Lead the technical design for onboarding new partners and scaling integrations efficiently.
Leadership & Collaboration:
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to engineering teams.
- Champion best practices in software engineering, design patterns, scalability, and security.
- Collaborate across product, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to align technical strategy with business goals.
- Exhibit strong gravitas to bring teams together, foster collaboration, and drive delivery without excessive bureaucracy.
Innovation & Growth:
- Identify opportunities to refactor existing systems for improved scalability, modularity, and performance.
- Incorporate modern engineering practices (microservices, Azure, containerization, CI/CD) into FMP’s architecture.
- Partner with AI and analytics teams to introduce intelligent features, such as customer offer matching, risk scoring, and predictive analytics.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
Experience:
- 8 years of software development, with 4 years in back-end architecture or systems design.
- Proven experience in architecting and scaling transaction-heavy systems.
- Strong expertise in C#, .NET, and SQL, with a deep understanding of enterprise system design.
- Solid experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred), microservices, APIs, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Background in designing secure, scalable integrations with external systems or third-party platforms.
- Experience guiding teams through hybrid architectures (monolithic microservices) and evolving toward modern, scalable systems.

- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and inspire engineering teams.
- Strong communicator with the ability to work across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Practical, outcome-focused mindset: able to drive forward without being bogged down by bureaucracy.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a track record of designing robust, scalable systems.
Preferred:
- Experience in financial services, fintech, or healthcare platforms.
- Familiarity with lender integrations and transaction workflows.
- Exposure to AI/ML-driven product features and analytics.
- Understanding of compliance, data security, and risk management in a marketplace or financial context.
