Maintenance Operations Manager

JOB SUMMARY

Lead the Sioux Falls Maintenance division to deliver safe, high-quality, timely and profitable services. Direct Maintenance Leads and coordinate resources across mowing, fertilization and weed control, horticulture, tree removal/pruning, irrigation, related lawn and landscape services, and seasonal snow operations. This position owns operational execution and works closely with Sales/Account Management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•  Operations & Planning: Lead daily service delivery through Maintenance Leads; oversee crew schedules, routing, staffing, equipment, materials
• and changing priorities to meet service commitments.
•  Financial Performance: Manage divisional operational results, including budgets, billable productivity, unbillable time, material and equipment
• costs, rework and gross profit; use job-cost and production data to drive improvements.
• Leadership & Development: Hire, coach, train and evaluate team members; establish clear expectations, develop Leads, address performance
• concerns promptly and reinforce company values and accountability.
• Quality & Communication: Establish and monitor quality-control processes, inspect work, resolve service deficiencies and coordinate timely client
• issue resolution; proactively update Sales/Account Management on completions, delays, schedule changes and service concerns.
• Safety & Resources: Enforce safe work practices, required training, equipment authorization and company policies; coordinate equipment care,
• repairs, preventative maintenance and replacement recommendations.
• Seasonal Operations: Coordinate with other operations leaders on snow removal staffing, deployment, subcontractors, service quality and
• response during weather events; provide field support when necessary.
• Make decisions that are in the best interest of the company.
• Other duties needed to help drive and fulfill the Weller Brothers Mission.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time exempt position.

Salary Range: $70,000-$110,000

Specific schedules will be determined based on weather and general needs of the business.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPECTATIONS

• Demonstrated experience leading multiple field crews or service teams; landscape maintenance operations experience strongly preferred.
• Strong people leadership, organization, judgment, problem-solving and professional communication; ability to interpret operational performance metrics and use business software. 
• Valid driver’s license; ability to visit active jobsites and work outdoors in varying conditions. Schedule may include early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays based on seasonal and weather demands. 
•  Excellent time management skills
•  Collaborative, positive attitude with eagerness to learn and assist where needed 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Employee must be able to perform the following tasks during a typical 8 hour day.

• SEDENTARY WORK: Lifting up to 10#; occasionally lifting or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers and small tools. Work essentially involves sitting and is considered sedentary if only a small amount of walking and standing is necessary to carry out duties.
• LIGHT WORK: Lifting up to 20#, frequently lifting of carrying objects up to 10#. Work is classified light if it requires walking or standing to a significant degree (regardless of weight lifted) or involves sitting most of the time with a degree or pushing and pulling of arm or leg controls.
• LIGHT MEDIUM WORK: Lifting up to 30#; frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 20#
• MEDIUM WORK: Lifting up to 50#; frequent lifting or carrying objects weighing up to 25#.
• LIGHT HEAVY WORK: Lifting up to 80#; frequent lifting or carrying objects weighing up to 45#.
• HEAVY WORK: Lifting up to 100#; frequent lifting or carrying objects weighing up to 80#.
