Join Our Growing Recovery Team
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) to support individuals recovering from substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders in a Detox, Residential, and Outpatient treatment setting.
The ideal candidate has lived recovery experience, strong communication skills, and a passion for helping others build meaningful and lasting recovery. This position plays an important role in providing peer support, encouragement, advocacy, and mentorship throughout the treatment process.
Responsibilities
- Provide peer support services and recovery mentorship to clients
- Share lived experience appropriately to inspire hope and motivation
- Facilitate peer support groups and recovery-focused activities
- Assist clients with goal setting, coping skills, and wellness planning
- Encourage participation in treatment, meetings, and recovery programming
- Support clients with community resources and reintegration planning
- Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times
- Complete documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
- Work collaboratively with therapists, nursing staff, case managers, and the treatment team
- Help create a positive, safe, and recovery-oriented environment
- Active Wisconsin Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) certification required
- Personal recovery experience preferred
- Experience in behavioral health, addiction treatment, or peer support preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer and documentation skills
- Valid driver’s license preferred
