Job Summary:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs teaching duties and plans daily activities for children to include all areas of curriculum
• Assures that children are always supervised
• Prepares lesson plans for director
• Assure them that the children’s equipment and supplies are arranged properly and orderly and are kept in good condition.
• Communicates with Director and Assistant Director concerning all aspects of their classroom
• Keeps good development records of children in the classroom
• Must be able to communicate with parents concerning the development of their child and any other concern

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• 2 years’ experience in a licensed daycare
• Current CPR and First Aid
• Must have strong planning skills
• Must have good oral and written communication skills
• Must be able to work effectively and appropriately with children
• Must maintain confidentiality of records

Education and Experience:

• Demonstrated skills in planning, prioritizing and time management
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and timely completion of tasks
• High School diploma or GED
• Must meet all requirements of the Department of Human Resources in areas of training
• Must have at least 12 clock hours of training in childcare and development through participation in workshops, meetings, videotapes, or one on one consultation.
