Position Summary
The Memory Care Activity Assistant assists with the planning and implementation of engaging activities within the Adult Day Services program to support participants’ emotional, cognitive, and social well-being.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing daily activity programming
Participate in staff meetings to coordinate activity planning
Lead activities appropriate to participant skills and interests
Develop and maintain activity outlines
Request program supplies and materials as needed
Keep supply closets and cabinets clean, neat, and organized
Incorporate seasonal and age-appropriate materials and projects
Provide one-on-one interaction with participants
Assist with maintaining the environment, including light housekeeping
Support meal service and ensure dining and kitchen areas are cleaned after meals
Greet participants and families professionally in the morning and/or afternoon
Communicate caregiver messages appropriately
Position Requirements
Education/Experience:
Two years of post-secondary education from an accredited institution OR
High school diploma (or equivalent) with a combined minimum of five years of experience and training working with elderly individuals or adults with disabilities
Minimum of one year of experience caring for impaired adults and assisting with activity planning and implementation
CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain)
