Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming to maintain cleanliness standards.
- Execute specialized floor care tasks such as scrubbing, buffing, waxing, refinishing, and polishing floors to restore their appearance and durability.
- Handle various cleaning equipment like floor buffers, scrubbers, carpet extractors, and floor polishers with precision and safety.
- Manage the use of floor cleaning chemicals and agents responsibly, following safety protocols for chemical handling and environmental compliance.
- Conduct manual handling of heavy cleaning supplies and equipment safely to prevent injury.
- Clean carpets using appropriate methods such as steam cleaning or extraction to ensure fresh and hygienic flooring surfaces.
- Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities, supplies used, and safety procedures followed to ensure accountability and quality control.
Qualifications
- Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or institutional environments.
- Skilled in various floor care techniques including scrubbing, waxing, buffing, refinishing, and carpet cleaning.
- Knowledge of cleaning equipment operation such as floor buffers, scrubbers, extractors, and related tools.
- Ability to handle chemical agents safely while adhering to safety data sheets (SDS) guidelines.
- Physical strength for manual handling tasks including heavy lifting of supplies and equipment.
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude when interacting with clients or staff.
