What are the responsibilities and job description for the Development Director position at Well Community?
Join our small, mission-driven nonprofit as the Development Director. This role leads fundraising, donor and community relations, grants and communications. Ideal for a relationship-centered professional who can balance strategic planning with hands-on execution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead annual fundraising plan, individual giving, grants and sponsorships.
- Manage donor cultivation, stewardship and database tracking.
- Manage research, creation and submission of grant proposals and reports.
- Oversee external communications including web content, newsletters, social media, donor thank-you correspondence and branding.
- Represent the organization at community meetings and events.
- Plan and execute fundraising and donor engagement events.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred) in marketing or related field
- Three or more years of nonprofit fundraising or development experience
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Successful track record with individual donors and/or grants
- Ability to work independently in a small nonprofit environment
- CRM/donor database, Google Suite and Canva experience preferred
- Some experience or training in the mental health field preferred
