WeldFit, is looking for a responsible and self-motivated candidate for the position of Maintenance Technician. They will be responsible for performing and supporting the upkeep, repair, and maintenance of WeldFit facility common areas, grounds, building systems, and related equipment. This role supports a safe, clean, and functional work environment by responding promptly to maintenance needs, performing preventive maintenance, and assisting with facility improvement projects.

This position requires a safety-focused, self-motivated individual with practical knowledge of building systems, facility maintenance, janitorial support, grounds upkeep, and basic industrial equipment maintenance.

Safety & Facility Maintenance

  • Work and think safety at all times, including reporting unsafe working conditions to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Perform upkeep of facility common areas, grounds, and assigned maintenance areas.
  • Apply working knowledge of building operating systems, including HVAC, security systems, sprinkler systems, fire alarms, plumbing, heating, electrical systems, and related facility setups.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance situations promptly and with sound judgment.

Maintenance Planning & Reporting

  • Perform facility upkeep, including grounds maintenance, building repairs, renovation support, and preventive maintenance.
  • Support preventive maintenance on heavy industrial machinery, including overhead cranes, welding equipment, CNC machines, and related equipment as assigned.
  • Maintain accountability for materials, tools, equipment, and supplies assigned to the role.
  • Serve as a liaison between tenants and management to help resolve maintenance-related concerns and implement solutions.

Janitorial & Grounds Support

  • Perform janitorial duties, including sweeping, emptying trash containers, and removing bulk trash to designated areas.
  • Sweep waste absorbent granules and place them into designated waste containers.
  • Maintain waste absorbent pads around machines and place used pads into designated waste absorbent pad containers.
  • Move heavy furniture and perform other facility support tasks as needed.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Work overtime and weekends with notice as business needs require.
  • Remain familiar with applicable city and state building codes to support compliance.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

Experience Level

  • Over three years of advanced experience or equivalent competency level across all machine operations within the department.

Education & Certifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical training, trade school coursework, or certifications in maintenance, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or a related field preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of three years of experience in a similar maintenance, facilities, or industrial support role required.
  • Prior experience in a maintenance and warehouse setting preferred.
  • Experience working with building systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire alarm, sprinkler, security, and related systems preferred.
  • Experience supporting maintenance in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment preferred.

  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and basic maintenance equipment safely and effectively.

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Work is performed in a manufacturing, facility, grounds, warehouse, and maintenance environment with exposure to shop floor conditions and extreme temperatures.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 75 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, climb, inspect facility areas, and perform physical duties for extended periods.
  • Must have a high level of manual dexterity to safely perform maintenance, material handling, and equipment-related tasks.
  • Must be able to comply with all facility safety requirements, including use of PPE as required.
  • May be required to work overtime, weekends, or respond to urgent maintenance needs with minimal notice.
