The HTLS (Hot Tap & Line Stop) Technician Trainee will participate in WeldFit's technician development program to teach them how to become a Hot Tap Technician. This program will consist of classroom and on the job training to teach how to safely and effectively complete a hot tap. Once the trainee graduates from the program they will then continue to develop their skills as a line stop technician. This program can range based upon the trainee from 12-24 months. The ideal candidate will display expertise in their craft with significant technical know-how, be able to foster strong customer relationships, be highly resourceful, and have strong communication & paperwork skills.
What You'll Do After Passing the Training Program:
- Perform unsupervised pipeline taps up to 12 600lb flanges.
- Operate industry related tools and equipment including fork lift.
- Use troubleshooting procedures to alleviate problems encountered in the field.
- Ensure that an accurate Daily Field Ticket is completed, signed by the customer and submitted to management by the end of every day.
- Anticipate patterns and links; looks beyond the immediate problem to address wider implications.
- Conduct Job Safety Analysis with all onsite personnel to review and examine the work scope in order to ensure the job can be performed safely
- Comply with company and customer HSE standards and procedures, and stops any work when unsafe conditions exist that threaten the safety of people, equipment, and property damage.
- Provide services in the most efficient manner possible while complying with cost estimates.
- Exhibit superior customer service and professionalism in communication with customers, engineers, vendors, contractors, and co-workers.
- Maintain all training requirements and complete training modules to maintain certifications

What's Required:
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a mechanical environment, preferably in the midstream Oil & Gas Industry
- Must be willing to travel extensively (greater than 80%)
- Ability to work overtime (scheduled or unscheduled, nights and/or weekends) as needed
- High school diploma or GED required; An associates degree or related technical certification preferred
- Able to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
- Able to work outdoors on a daily basis in all types of weather conditions and under emergency conditions
- Able to work in areas with limited access or cramped spaces including High exposure to excessive noise, dust, dirt, grease, temperature extremes, and safety hazards
- DOT Safety Sensitive Position Random Drug Screening Required
