Responsibilities
- Provide attentive and compassionate care to cats and dogs, including feeding, watering, and administering medications as directed.
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and common spaces to promote a healthy environment.
- Assist with cat and dog handling and restraint during veterinary procedures as needed.
- Monitor pets’ behavior and health, reporting any concerns or abnormalities to veterinary staff or supervisors promptly.
- Handle heavy lifting when necessary for cleaning supplies, pet supplies, or equipment to ensure smooth daily operations.
Experience
- Prior experience working with animals in a kennel, veterinary clinic, pet grooming salon, or animal shelter is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and basic veterinary procedures is a strong advantage.
- Experience in pet sitting or animal handling demonstrates your ability to manage various breeds and temperaments confidently.
- Background as a veterinary technician or veterinary assistant provides valuable insight into animal health care practices.
- Excellent customer service skills are essential for communicating effectively with pet owners and team members.
