Love retail but over the corporate grind? Welcome Home is a beautifully curated home goods boutique specializing in heritage and craft brands for the kitchen and table. Think Anthropologie meets Williams Sonoma—warm, polished, and hands-on. We’re looking for a dynamic retail professional to join our Chestertown, MD location.
We often say that we’re where retailers who want to own their own business come to learn. If you aspire to one day open your own retail store, and want to learn what it’s like, we would love to train you.
At this time, we are only considering applicants with prior experience in retail home goods or interior design.
About the Job:
- Autonomously open/close the store
- Deliver friendly, consultative customer service
- Style, restock, organize, and keep the store looking beautiful
- Receive inventory and fulfill online orders
- Help with light Shopify/POS tasks
- Occasional social media stories; Simple design in Canva
The schedule & perks:
- Set-schedule of hours; All schedules include one day, Saturday or Sunday.
- Estimated 24-32 hours per week.
- Competitive hourly pay, paid time off, and paid major holidays
- Our shop is typically open 10am - 5pm. Everyone on the team is home for dinner.
You’re a great fit if you:
- Have specialty retail experience in home, lifestyle, or design (Required)
- Love color, texture, and well-organized spaces
- Are polished, warm, and not afraid to roll up your sleeves
- Are comfortable with iPads, POS systems, and Instagram (Required)
- Love working with heritage brands
- Love working with people!
Good to know:
- Free parking is available in Chestertown in local public parking lots
- Must be able to stand, use stairs, multitask, and lift up to 30 lbs
- Must be comfortable making direct eye contact, asking consultative questions, and directly engaging strangers in casual conversation
- Must be available Saturday & Sunday, and all major holiday weekends in order to be considered.
