CASTING CALL – Every Brilliant Thing

Travel Day: August 2, 2026
First Rehearsal: August 3, 2026

Rehearsals will take place in Orlando, Florida or New York City depending on who is cast in the role. Based on casting, we will hire both a lead performer and an understudy.

Compensation

$500 per week

For performers not local to Orlando, production will provide flight, housing, transportation, and a gym membership.

Every Brilliant Thing is an uplifting, interactive one-person play about depression, hope, and human connection. The story follows a person who begins a list of everything worth living for after their mother’s suicide attempt. As the list grows, the audience becomes part of the storytelling, creating a shared and deeply personal theatrical experience.

We are casting one performer to play the Narrator. The role is open to performers of any gender identity between the ages of 25 and 50. The Narrator is a grounded and authentic storyteller who is emotionally intelligent, warm, and inviting. This performer must be comfortable with audience interaction, skilled in improvisation, and able to read and respond to the room in real time. A strong sense of humor is essential, along with the ability to navigate both comedic and emotionally complex material. The performer remains on stage for the full 70 minute production with no intermission, so stamina is required. The subject matter includes themes of depression and grief, which may be intense or triggering. Piano skills are a plus but not required.
