Weland's team of health care professionals provides the highest quality testing in an efficient and caring manner. Work-life balance is important here! Our independent reference laboratory prioritizes manageable workloads and schedules—we are closed on major holidays and have limited weekend hours.
We are looking for a PRN Medical Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist to perform registration, order entry, specimen collection, DOT and non-DOT drug screen collections. This position will primarily work out of our Main Lab location but will also provide coverage at our other locations in Cedar Rapids/Marion area and our mobile phlebotomy routes as needed.
Our business operates during the following hours:
- Monday through Friday: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Saturday: 8 AM – 12:00 PM
Schedules may vary from week to week based on staffing needs. Candidates must be flexible and willing to work a rotating schedule, including every fourth Saturday from 7:45 AM to 12:00 PM.
We are closed on Sundays and major holidays.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
-At least 6 months of phlebotomy experience in a hospital or high-volume lab is required.
-Valid driver's license and good driving record are required.
-EMR or LIS experience is preferred.
-Knowledge of diagnosis coding and insurance preferred.
-Candidates must be able to interact positively with patients and co-workers. Attention to detail, ability to work independently, critical thinking, accountability, and reliability are required.
