What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Development Representative position at Wekiva Springs Center?
Wekiva Springs Center in Jacksonville Florida has an immediate opening for a Business Development Rep. We offer:
- Generous compensation
- 21 Days of PTO in the first year
- Various insurances to meet your needs
- 401 K with up to a 4% match
- Tuition reimbursement up to $1,500 per Year after 1 year
- Company paid life insurance
What You'll Do
- Drive census growth — build and execute a referral development strategy across the facility's continuum of care (inpatient, PHP, IOP, and outpatient programs as applicable), working closely with the Director of Admissions/Intake to convert referral activity into admissions.
- Lead a team — manage a team of 3-4 Business Development Representatives, setting territory strategy, call volume expectations, and performance goals.
- Own the brand — develop and execute the facility's strategic marketing plan, including digital presence, reputation management, and community/provider-facing collateral.
- Build referral relationships — cultivate and maintain relationships with hospitals, physician practices, schools, courts, law enforcement, EAPs, and other community referral sources.
- Shape strategy — sit on the facility leadership team, contributing to decisions on program expansion, new service lines, and operational planning.
- Report and analyze — track referral source performance, conversion, and ROI on marketing spend; report results to the CEO and regional leadership.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field (Master's preferred).
- 7 years of business development, sales, or marketing experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, or acute healthcare — with a track record of hitting referral/census goals.
- Prior experience managing or mentoring a sales or BD team.
- Working knowledge of the local behavioral health referral landscape preferred: hospitals, physician groups, schools, EAPs, and community organizations in the Jacksonville area.
- Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation; regular local travel required.
Schedule
This role is primarily Monday–Friday business hours. Because referral relationships and community events don't always run 9-to-5, some evening and weekend availability is required — for example, attending a hospital open house or a community mental health event. Wekiva Springs Center works with the Director to plan this time in advance rather than on-call, last-minute notice.
