Description
Weitsman Recycling is seeking a reliable CDL Class A Local Driver to transport scrap metals from our distribution center to locations within the Northeastern region. This position offers the advantage of local routes, ensuring that you'll be home every night. You'll experience a high level of independence on the road while still benefiting from a supportive team environment. Position Overview
As a CDL Class A Local Driver, your main responsibility will be the safe and efficient transport of materials between nearby locations. This role emphasizes a strong focus on safety, compliance with transportation regulations, and excellent customer service. You'll be driving locally, so you can enjoy the balance of being on the road and spending time at home daily.
Key Responsibilities
- Safe Operation of Vehicles : Operate company-owned commercial vehicles, including roll-off trucks and specialized equipment, while adhering to all transportation regulations; conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety.
- Material Transportation : Safely load, transport, and unload recyclable materials, ensuring proper securing of cargo to prevent damage or loss during transit.
- Customer Service : Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor during pickups and deliveries, addressing any customer concerns or questions promptly.
- Documentation & Reporting : Keep accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and hours of service, ensuring timely submission of paperwork such as delivery receipts and logbooks.
- Vehicle Maintenance : Perform routine maintenance checks on vehicles, promptly reporting any mechanical issues and coordinating with the maintenance team for repairs and preventive services.
