Job Summary

Join Weissman as a Fabric Shoe Sourcing Assistant and get hands-on experience working directly with fabrics, trims, and suppliers around the world. This role is part of a dynamic sourcing team that brings designs to life through careful coordination, organization, and attention to detail.
In this role, you’ll help manage the fabric development process - from color approvals to material tracking - while collaborating with creative partners across Design, Product Development, and Merchandising. It’s a fast-paced, detail-oriented position that’s perfect for someone who loves textiles, thrives in a collaborative environment, and wants to learn how great products come to life.
Responsibilities
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Textile and Apparel Management, Marketing, Merchandising, or a related field preferred.
Experience
1 to 3 years of professional experience in the textile or fashion industry required.

In this role, you’ll help manage the fabric development process - from color approvals to material tracking - while collaborating with creative partners across Design, Product Development, and Merchandising. It’s a fast-paced, detail-oriented position that’s perfect for someone who loves textiles, thrives in a collaborative environment, and wants to learn how great products come to life.
Responsibilities
- Review and approve fabric production bulk headers for color consistency, quality standards, and stretch percentage. Send daily approval or rejection emails for received bulk headers and samples.
- Evaluate fabrics, trims, and accessories for internal production use.
- Analyze products sent from mills against internal color standards and Pantone references under multiple lighting conditions.
- Request and track trim and accessory samples for the Design Department through the iNFOR system.
- Manage and strengthen supplier relationships to support business success.
- Provide detailed color comments to mills and record them in the internal tracking system.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Design, Product Development, Merchandising, QA, and Purchasing teams.
- Monitor and update production material tracking sheets, pushing for timely deliveries and resolving delays.
- Review weekly work-in-progress updates from mills and vendors to ensure on-time material readiness.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Textile and Apparel Management, Marketing, Merchandising, or a related field preferred.
Experience
1 to 3 years of professional experience in the textile or fashion industry required.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, product lead times, and import/export logistics
- Knowledge of quality and regulatory requirements for government and retailer compliance
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment
