Purpose of Role: We are looking for a communications leader with a strong writing and creative design background who thrives on sharp, visual storytelling, stakeholder engagement and highly developed strategic planning. Supporting the global communications team, this role will lead diverse communication initiatives with a critical eye, from executive messaging to employee engagement, while prioritizing content opportunities that promote safety, recognition, commercial success, community affairs and other strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic, Visual Storytelling: Craft compelling content that reflects Weir’s mission, values and priorities.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Support global and divisional teams, including HR, global sales, operations, supply chain, engineering and executive leadership, with demonstrated ability to influence and manage outcomes.
- Community and Public Relations: Be a thought partner to maximize thought leadership, media and community engagement.
- Project Leadership: Provides ownership of small and medium-scale programs, campaigns and events.
- Continuous Improvement: Creates recommendations which may be outside of current practice when required and designs programs to increase effectiveness.
- Tool Proficiency: Use and manage digital marketing and communications tools (e.g., Microsoft Office 365 applications, social media, Adobe Creative Suite, email marketing software and interactive content displays).
- Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.
Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for candidates that have the ability to perform the objectives above.
- 8 years of experience in corporate communications, internal communications, public relations or related fields.
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
- Demonstrated reliability to balance short-term, immediate deliverables with longer-term, strategic planning with ability to react quickly to changes.
- Embraces and demonstrates self-starter capabilities, a feedback mindset and strong commitment to group success to achieve quality outcomes.
- High proficiency in digital communications tools and platforms.
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or related field (master’s preferred).
