THE OPPORTUNITY
Weintraub Tobin is seeking a full-time (40 hours per week) Information Technology (IT) Systems Administrator / Junior Systems Engineer to join the firm’s IT team in our Sacramento office. This position reports to the Director of IT and supports the firm’s core infrastructure, applications, and systems operations, with an emphasis on Application installations and patching, OS deployments, and server and systems updates. The role provides advanced technical troubleshooting for complex systems and application issues in collaboration with the helpdesk team, and plays a hands-on role in maintaining reliable, secure, and high-performing systems that support attorneys and staff in a fast-paced professional law firm environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install, configure, deploy, and support infrastructure servers, operating systems, and applications
- Perform routine system maintenance, including patching, updates, and upgrades
- Support the operation of firm infrastructure servers and core business applications
- Administer and support Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and related services
- Support legal-specific platforms and tools, including Reach 360
- Assist with application deployments, updates, and integrations
- Collaborate with the Help Desk and Network IT staff by providing systems-level troubleshooting for complex issues
- Support new system installations, hardware deployments, and software rollouts
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes from a systems and access perspective and support with training users on software
- Ensure desktops, laptops, and mobile devices integrate effectively with firm systems and applications
- Maintain accurate documentation for systems, configurations, and asset inventory
- Follow established IT standards, procedures, and security best practices
- Assist with infrastructure projects, planning, and evaluations as needed
- Support the evaluation and procurement of hardware and software
- Stay current on relevant technologies, tools, and industry best practices
- Perform additional IT-related duties as assigned by the IT Director or Firm Management
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3-5 years of related experience in a Systems Administrator, Jr. Systems Engineer, or similar IT role
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred; High School Diploma/GED with equivalent professional experience may be considered
- Law firm or professional services experience strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge base of Windows operating systems and Windows server environments
- Strong knowledge of SharePoint and Microsoft 365
- Experience with Identity/Access Management, EDR, and ZTNA
- Experience with application deployment, systems updates, infrastructure servers, and enterprise applications
- Familiarity supporting cloud and office environments
- Excellent organizational and documentation abilities
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical users
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and quantitative skills to resolve complex problems
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Proven record of reliable attendance and punctuality

Salary range: $90,000-$115,000
