Criminal Defense Attorney – Department Lead

Weinstein Legal Team
Orlando, FL Full Time
POSTED ON 8/26/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 12/24/2026

LEAD A CRIMINAL DEFENSE PRACTICE WITH AN ESTABLISHED FIRM BEHIND YOU

Weinstein Legal Team is seeking an experienced Criminal Defense Attorney to lead and expand our criminal-defense presence in Orlando and throughout Central Florida. This is an opportunity for a proven advocate who wants the independence and professional influence of running a practice—without assuming the overhead, administrative workload, and financial risk of operating a firm alone.

We are not looking for someone who simply wants cases assigned to them. We want a courtroom-tested attorney who can take ownership, make decisions, develop relationships, lead a team, and help build a formidable Orlando practice. You will have substantial autonomy over case strategy and local practice development, backed by the firm’s operations, technology, intake, marketing, and administrative infrastructure.

What You’ll Do

· Lead and grow the firm’s criminal-defense practice in the Orlando market.

· Independently manage misdemeanor and felony matters from intake through resolution.

· Handle arraignments, bond hearings, depositions, evidentiary hearings, motion practice, negotiations, and trials.

· Develop strong, creative, and ethical defense strategies.

· Provide direct and compassionate communication to clients and their families.

· Build relationships with local attorneys, referral partners, and the Central Florida legal community.

· Help establish procedures and recruit, supervise, and develop future team members.

Who We’re Looking For

· Active member of The Florida Bar in good standing.

· At least five years of substantive Florida criminal-defense experience.

· Meaningful first-chair courtroom and trial experience.

· Ability to independently manage serious and complex criminal matters.

· Strong advocacy, negotiation, communication, and client-management skills.

· Portable book of business or demonstrated ability to generate business strongly preferred.

· Former prosecutorial and prior leadership experience welcomed but not required.

Compensation and Opportunity

· $100,000–$130,000 annual base salary, commensurate with experience plus commission for originated and handled cases.

· Additional performance-based earning opportunities for success on firm-generated matters.

· Significant autonomy over legal strategy and local practice development.

· Established operational, administrative, technological, intake, and marketing support.

· The opportunity to build and lead a local team.

· Long-term leadership and financial growth potential.

Why Weinstein Legal Team?

You may already have the experience to run your own practice. What you may not want is the headache that comes with it. At Weinstein Legal Team, you can have the professional ownership, financial upside, and autonomy you have earned while the firm provides the infrastructure behind you. Focus on clients, cases, leadership, and growth—not payroll, leases, technology problems, vendors, billing administration, or the countless distractions of business ownership.

If you are an experienced criminal-defense attorney who wants to build something substantial—but does not want to build it alone—we should talk. All inquiries will remain confidential.
