The Role:
This role is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining a unified data architecture within Microsoft Fabric to support enterprise reporting and analytics. It combines strong data engineering, SQL, and Power BI skills to integrate diverse data sources into a single, trusted model. The individual will develop ETL pipelines, optimize semantic models, and collaborate with finance and business teams to deliver accurate, scalable insights that drive data-informed decision-making across the organization.
What You Will Do:
- Lead Data Architecture Initiatives:
- Design and implement a unified data model consolidating seven existing semantic models into a single Microsoft Fabric-based architecture.
- Analyze legacy data structures and define optimal integration and migration strategies.
- Develop and manage measures, facts, and dimensions aligned with business needs.
- Define partitioning, refreshing, and performance optimization strategies.
- Maintain metadata, data dictionaries, and data lineage documentation
- ETL/ELT Development & Maintenance:
- Build and troubleshoot ETL/ELT processes using SSIS and Fabric dataflows.
- Understand when to materialize data in the warehouse vs. using views.
- SQL Development:
- Write, debug, and optimize complex SQL queries, including stored procedures, CTEs, unions, and dynamic SQL.
- Maintain and evolve SQL views supporting downstream analytics and reporting
- Collaboration & Reporting:
- Partner with business stakeholders to enhance and scale custom financial and operational reporting solutions
- Translate finance and executive reporting requirements into scalable, technical data solutions.
- Support discussions across business and technology teams to align with long-term goals.
- Semantic Model Management:
- Develop, maintain, and optimize Power BI semantic models and datasets.
- Deploy BI solutions using Visual Studio Code, Tabular Editor, and Azure DevOps pipelines.
- Support Power BI paginated reports and advanced DAX calculations
What You Will Bring:
- 5-7 years of experience in business intelligence, data architecture and consolidation, ETL/ELT, SQL (CTEs, Stored procedures, dynamic SQL)
- DAX: Intermediate to advanced proficiency for model design and performance tuning.
- ERP Systems: Experience integrating data from any major ERP (Syspro experience a plus).
- Expert level knowledge and understanding of Power BI (certification preferred) dashboard creation and customization
- AI / ML: Conceptual understanding of agent-based and predictive models preferred.
- Cloud and Data platforms experience – Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services
- Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Analytics or a related field with Finance and Accounting background (Master's/MBA is a plus).
- Power BI certification
- MS Fabric certification
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with senior finance and business leaders
Compensation Range:
$132,300-$147,000
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by job related skills, experience, location, and relevant education or training.
