The Role:
The Pre-Weigh Technician is responsible for accurately preparing, weighing, labeling, and staging raw materials—such as powders, liquids, and sacks—used in blending operations. This position plays a critical role in supporting batch execution by ensuring that all required ingredients are verified, pre-measured, and delivered to the staging area in alignment with production schedules. The technician will follow established formulas and documentation protocols while maintaining safety, compliance, and efficiency standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
What You Will Do:
- Accurately weigh, label, and check and stage raw materials and weigh partial according to production batch records and formulas.
- Prepare materials in the correct order and quantities, ensuring readiness for blending operations.
- Fill picking sheets and verify material identifiers (e.g., lot numbers, expiration dates) and document each staging event to ensure traceability and compliance.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and 5S standards during all staging activities.
- Safely transport materials using pallet jacks, carts, or other approved equipment.
- Communicate material shortages, discrepancies, or quality concerns to the supervisor or quality team promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the staging, weighing, and raw material storage areas.
- Assist with the transfer of materials from the warehouse to the production area as needed.
- Participate in inventory cycle counts and material tracking processes.
- Accurately complete all required staging and pre-weigh documentation using paper logs or digital systems.
- Support team-based problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts related to material flow and preparation.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

What You Will Bring:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or materials-handling role preferred.
- Experience with batch preparation, pre-weighing, or staging preferred.
- Basic math skills with the ability to read scales and follow precise measurements and formulas.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy, cleanliness, and compliance.
- Effective communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a time-sensitive production setting.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and shifts, including overtime, if needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, bend, and lift for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift and carry raw material bags or containers up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to push/pull carts or pallets weighing up to 100 lbs using manual equipment.
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity for handling small or bulk components.
- Must wear appropriate PPE including gloves, hairnets, safety glasses, and steel-toe shoes.
