Salary Range: $78,500.00 - $90,800.00

Position Summary

Under guidance, provides operational and analytical support for the planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of quality and patient safety initiatives. Partners with departmental faculty and other related stakeholders to advance quality and patient safety priorities through data-informed decision making, and effective support.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily review and coordination of adverse event reporting systems, including tracking, escalation, and disposition of identified events.
  • Support the coordination and tracking of patient safety plans of correction and initiatives, including maintaining timelines and assisting with barrier identification and resolution.
  • Provide routine status updates to stakeholders on key activities, issues, and progress related to patient safety initiatives, coordinating across sites as needed.
  • Serve as a point of coordination for patient safety initiatives across the anesthesiology department, supporting escalation processes and facilitating communication among team members.
  • Collaborate with quality and patient safety teams across perioperative services (NYP).
  • Assist in the development, maintenance, and optimization of systems and tools used to track performance, support reporting, and facilitate improvement.
  • Coordinate scheduling and logistics for meetings and project activities, ensuring effective engagement of key stakeholders.
  • Support meeting operations, including agenda preparation, documentation of minutes, and tracking of follow-up actions.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and other materials related to departmental quality and patient safety initiatives.
  • Support data reporting and analysis using systems such as Keepsafe, MPOG (ASPIRE) and Epic to monitor performance and identify quality opportunities.
  • Provides support for regulatory readiness activities (i.e., Joint Commission).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree

Experience

Masters degree is preferred.

Approximately 2-3 years of experience in a related role.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite and database applications.
  • Professional demeanor with strong presentation and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive information.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet multiple deadlines simultaneously.
  • Ability to participate as a team member and work independently, with limited supervision.
