Freelance Production Assistant
Weigel Productions is seeking an intellectually curious, team player, and a strong communicator Freelance Production Assistant to work closely with the Studio Production crew in our Chicago West Loop studios.
About The Role
- Work directly with Weigel’s Creative team, Director and crew members to discuss sequences, desired effects, camera movements, and lighting requirements
- Assist in creation of multiple productions
- Apply strong organizational and prioritization skills to manage tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Provide support and fill in across key production roles during tapings, including camera operation, audio, floor director, and teleprompter operation
- Set up studio cameras and related equipment
- Assist with daily production needs and deliver on site support during field shoots
- Communicate clearly and proactively with cross functional teams
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- 1-2 years of experience in a video production role within broadcast, digital, or cable environments (required)
- Prior studio experience (preferred)
- Experience with studio videography, lighting, audio production, vMix streaming software, and Ross Xpression Graphics (preferred)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail with proven time management abilities
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends based on production demands
- Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
