Location Manager

Weiders Hardware is a small family owned business. The store is 2.000 sq. feet, with about 10 staff.

Major Responsibilities

Oversee daily frontline operations, drive customer service, and manage floor inventory. Lead sales associates, assist customers with complex DIY projects, and maintain store safety and visual standards. This highly hands-on role bridges the gap between senior management and staff.

Customer Service & Sales

• Act as the primary point of escalation for complex customer inquiries, returns, and complaints.
• Provide expert advice on hardware products, tools, and home improvement solutions.
• Lead by example on the sales floor by actively greeting, engaging, and assisting customers.

Team Leadership & Operations

• Manage daily floor and technician staffing, delegate tasks to associates, and ensure adequate department coverage.
• Assist in training new hires on product knowledge, point-of-sale (POS) systems, and store policies.
• Conduct regular performance huddles, coaching sessions, and assist with scheduling.
• Assist with performance reviews.
• Project management for various departments.

Inventory & Merchandising

• Monitor sales floor stock levels, process restocks and report low inventory to purchasing.
• Execute seasonal merchandising resets, endcap designs, and update price tags and signs.
• Minimize shrinkage by ensuring accurate on-hand inventory counts and organizing backstock.

Safety & Store Standard

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe sales floor, free of tripping or lifting hazards.
• Enforce store safety policies and safe equipment operation (e.g., proper lifting techniques).

Minimum Requirements

The minimum requirements for this position include:

· High School Diploma or equivalent qualification

· Possess a vast product knowledge of hardware related products along with a willingness to learn

· Experience: Minimum of 1-4 years retail management experience

· Skills/Knowledge: Strong leadership and analytical skills

· Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations

· Strong problem-solving and organizational skills

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks with a high attention to detail

· Knowledge of retail computer systems, MS Word and Excel a plus.

· Ability and willingness to be a key holder and work flexible hours including days, evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business, and cover call outs when necessary.

Physical Requirements

The physical requirements for this position include

· Ability to stand for an extended period of time.

· Ability to climb stairs and lift up to 50 lbs.

· Move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store, which entails lifting and perform all functions as set forth

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $22.00 per hour
