Equipment Operator- Seasonal work only
We are currently seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to join our growing team. This position is currently seasonal (June–December), with a strong opportunity to transition into a long-term, full-time position. In this role, you will operate machinery and assist in building commercial playgrounds, shade structures, and participating in projects within our environmental construction and consulting division.
This is an ideal position for a heavy equipment operator or experienced construction professional who wants to expand their skill set, learn a niche trade, and do more than just standard machine operation.
Our work is spread across Long Island, New York. We are looking for team members with a positive attitude who are dependable, take pride in their work, and are detail-oriented.
Skills & Requirements
- Physical Fitness: Must be physically able to lift up to 85 lbs and work outside in various weather conditions.
- Reliability: Must show up on time daily with reliable transportation to and from shifting job sites.
- Background & Driving Record: Clean driving record and a clean criminal background (mandatory background check required).
Job Responsibilities
- Equipment Operation: Safely and efficiently operate machinery such as skid steers and excavators, for demolition, fine grading, site prep, and material handling.
- Structure Assembly: Follow instructions and blueprints to assemble and construct commercial playgrounds, shade structures, and environmental projects.
- Hands-on Construction: Use hand/power tools and assist with concrete pouring, masonry, and groundwork as needed (this is a working operator role).
- Team Collaboration: Work in a fast-paced environment, taking direction from supervisors and collaborating effectively with the crew.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
- 3-5 years of experience in heavy equipment operation and construction.
- Valid OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Certification
- Prior experience in concrete work, grading, or landscaping (hardscapes) is highly preferred.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
