Job Summary:
Inspects, verifies and audits the quality of products and processes.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manufacturing Processes:
- Verify set-ups & inspections from applicable manufacturing processes.
- Audit products at manufacturing processes and record data into applicable software, reacting to “out of control” situations as they arise.
- Informs Operators and Repairpersons/Technicians of any problems with the quality of parts from the stamping, die casting, coating, and assembly processes.
- Receiving Inspection
- When required, inspect raw steel upon receipt.
- When required, perform inspection of parts/components received from vendors.
- When required, perform daily monitoring of the Salt Spray system.
- Perform Finished Goods Product Audits.
- Support and participates in calibration and using SPC methods (Statistical Process Control).
- Operates Vision System and CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine), minor troubleshooting and programing.
- Perform internal audits of processes.
- Support and participate in Continuous Improvement and 5S functions
- Support and participate in preventive and corrective actions in the context of product/process and/or other improvements.
- Maintains 5S standards.
- Supports APQP functions including capability analysis, dimensional layouts and project tasks.
- Performs other duties, as requested or required.
Accountabilities:
Insurance of quality and consistency of product and processes.
Physical & Mental Requirements:
- Ability to write neatly and legibly.
- Ability to lift and carry forty-five (45) pounds.
- Ability to stand and bend for long periods of time throughout the defined shift.
- Moderate decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
- PC skills - programs such as word processing, spread sheets, and internet/intranet.
Working Conditions:
Manufacturing facility. Moderate noise level. Some desk and PC work.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous knowledge of Quality Control concepts preferred.
- Working knowledge of personal computers including Microsoft Office.
