Estate Planning & Probate Legal Assistant

A respected law firm is seeking an experienced Estate Planning & Probate Legal Assistant to support a busy trusts and estates practice. This role is ideal for a highly organized professional with strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced legal environment. Candidates with experience handling estate planning and probate matters, including exposure to 706/709 filings and NetDocs, are strongly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, revise, and proofread legal documents and correspondence
- Assist with estate planning and probate matters
- Open, organize, manage, and maintain client files and filing systems
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail
- Answer incoming calls, respond to general inquiries, and direct calls appropriately
- Schedule appointments, maintain calendars, and coordinate meetings
- Set up conference calls and assist with client communications
- Arrange travel and business itineraries as needed
- Accurately enter attorney time and assist with administrative support tasks
- Communicate professionally and effectively with attorneys, staff, and clients
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of legal assistant experience, preferably in estate planning and probate
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Typing speed of at least 80 WPM
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent grammar, spelling, proofreading, and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Proven dependability, professionalism, discretion, and confidential handling of sensitive matters
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced setting
- Experience with 706/709 filings and NetDocs is a significant plus
