HOURS: 7:00 - 1:15 5.75 hours
PAY RANGE: $17.48/hour

Minimum Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience:
- ServSafe certified or willingness to obtain within 90 days.
- A valid driver’s license or the ability to travel within the district as requested.
Desired Education and Experience:
- High School diploma, HiSET or GED.
- School Nutrition Association Certification and Membership.
- Previous work experience in school food service or another food production facility.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Ability to cope with time pressure.
- Ability to organize own time and tasks.
- Ability to effectively use computer-based systems.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Competency working in a culturally diverse environment or the willingness to acquire these skills.
JOB SUMMARY:
Assist with the operation of the total multi-unit food service operation in compliance with federal and state regulations relating to Child Nutrition Programs. The essential functions as shown below represent only the key areas of responsibility; specific position requirements will vary depending on the needs of the food and nutrition services department. This position requires continuous use of independent judgment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist in the kitchen with daily production tasks including preparing food items as needed.
- Read menu and plan work to accomplish food preparation for the week including forecasting, receiving, ordering and production.
- Assist with quality and quantity control for all food items by communicating with home school.
- Complete daily records accurately including production records.
- Demonstrate the knowledge of reimbursable meals and snacks.
- Service students breakfast and lunch.
- Maintain HACCP and food safety required records including cook/chill documentation and temperature logs.
- Read communications from all district stakeholders.
- Complete monthly inventory.
- Maintain accurate production, food safety and sanitation standards and all required documentation.
- Open and close kitchen in accordance with district procedures.
- Operate Point-of-Sale system daily and post each business day.
- Maintain annual U.S.D.A professional standards requirements.
- Assist manager on service problems and determining solutions.
- Assist with cleaning at the end of the day in accordance with district and department guidelines.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Constant standing and indoors. Frequent walking and exposure to extremes of temperature/humidity. Occasional outdoors, sitting, bending/stooping, reaching/pushing/puling, climbing/stairs, driving, lifting (35lbs), carrying (20ft), telephone, computer.

Bid Criteria – Lateral/Promotion for Non-Interview Positions: Lateral transfers within the same job
classification or a promotion will be awarded upon consideration of the following criteria:
- 12-month Calendar: Current full-time employee has been working for 12 months prior to the job posting date.
- 210-day and 230-day Calendar: Current full-time and Part-time Employee has 12 previous months of actual workdays prior to the job posting date.
- Academic Calendar – Current full-time and Part-time Employee has 12 previous months of actual workdays prior to the job posting date.

- Attendance - sick leave standard is as follows:
- Employees must have ten (10) days or less of family/personal sick leave or “no leave hourly” time used. Scheduled hours in the timekeeping system will be utilized.
- Sick leave will be calculated based on the 12 previous months of actual workdays from the posting date for all employees.
- All authorized Unpaid Leave of Absences (not FMLA approved) will not be taken off the record for this purpose of the bid process.

- All employees must be in an active paid status at the beginning of the posting.

- Evaluation: composite score of “meets” or better on the most recent evaluation
