JOB SUMMARY:
The Classroom Associate supports classroom teachers with instruction and student supervision. The essential functions as shown below represent only the key areas of responsibility; specific position requirements will vary depending on the needs of the district.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist and support the classroom teacher with reading and math instruction; working with small groups or individual students.
- Assist the teacher in monitoring student progress by maintaining records and providing feedback as requested.
- Take directions for instruction from the classroom teacher. Work in collaboration with teacher(s) using developmentally appropriate practices.
- Use positive reinforcement techniques and strategies to assist in managing behavior throughout the school routine including transition times, lunch, and recess.
- Maintain professional learning and growth by attending provided training.
- Other duties, as assigned.
