Position Description: Estimator/Project Manager
Reports To: Managers/Owners
Location: Position located in Alfred, ME
Job Summary:
This position will be responsible for developing new sales, estimating, and customer requests for residential and commercial projects in our Step department. With emphasis on managing the projects from start through completion.
Estimating will require some site visits, evaluating projects, performing a quantity takeoff related to our product line, review specifications and drawings, prepare written estimates and quotes to submit to our customers for review.
Project management will oversee and manage all aspects of the job from inception to completion. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, ensuring project timelines are met, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Estimating and bidding jobs competitively in required timelines to secure project.
- Working with residential and commercial customers.
- Assembling project submittals and processing..
-Accurately assesses measurements, material, labor and equipment required for the project.
- Client Communication: Understand client expectations and project requirements. Maintain regular communication with clients to update them on project progress and address any concerns.
-Ability to problem solve conflict through a collaborative effort with customer or driver install issues
-Developing and maintaining relationships with company vendors and contractors/customers
-Maintain high ethical standards demonstrating Weed Precast and the Step guys core values of integrity, quality, passion, and service
-Meets or exceeds safety, quality, housekeeping, attention to detail, and production efficiency objectives while always maintaining a culture of continuous improvement.
-Must possess excellent communication skills; both oral and writing, and the ability to work collaboratively during times of high staff stress, while maintaining a professional attitude and approach.

- Project Planning: Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, production schedule, estimates, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Team Coordination: Lead and coordinate project teams, including engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Quality Control: Ensure all precast concrete products meet quality standards and specifications.
- Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with industry regulations and company policies.
- Reporting: Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
-High School diploma or GED
-2-year construction management, estimating, or sales.
-Familiarity with analyzing requirement data to develop material and cost estimates for projects of all sizes
-Proficiency in mathematics, Microsoft products, work orders, production scheduling
-Skilled in ability to accurately measure for estimating requires a strong grasp of quantity takeoffs (measuring lengths, areas, and volumes from blueprints) as well for residental
-Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
-Strong Project Management Skills
-Exceptional time Management Skills
-Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills
