Weed Management Company is seeking an experienced vegetation management supervisor to oversee wildfire prevention and vegetation management project. This role involves coordinating and supervising field crews, ensuring compliance with project requirements, and providing expert guidance on vegetation management activities for wildfire risk reduction in rural areas.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of vegetation management crews performing tasks such as tree removal, thinning, pruning, mowing and line trimming
- Oversee the safe and effective operation of tools and equipment, including chainsaws, pole saws, trimmers, mower, chippers and mechanical masticator's
- Ensure proper application of herbicides, verifying compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Assess pre-fire and post-fire recovery work, such a erosion controls, fuel break creation and debris removal ensuring adherence to best practices and project standards.
- Conduct road flagging and traffic management oversight, ensuring compliance with Caltrans and county regulations.
- Coordinate with client and other local authorities, providing updates on project progress, safety compliance and any challenges encountered on-site.
- Maintain detailed records of project activities, personnel performance and equipment use to ensure timely reporting and compliance with contractual obligations.
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within vegetation management, forestry, wildfire prevention or related field.
- Strong knowledge of vegetation management techniques, equipment operation and safety protocols.
- Ability to manage and lead teams effectively, ensuring compliance with environmental and safety protocols.
- Familiarity with herbicide application regulations and prescribed grazing methods.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders
- Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to various project sites within the given client zones
- Relevant certifications in herbicide application and/or traffic management are a plus.
- Knowledge of local point species and environmental compliance requirements
- Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance of vegetation management equipment.
- Familiarity with California state regulation related to wildfire prevention, public works and environmental safety.
- Familiarity with software programs such as Survey 123, Workforce, Fieldmaps within the ArcGIS platform
- Familiarity with using Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point

Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
