Position Overview
As a Lead Toddler Teacher, you will play an important role in creating a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for toddlers during some of their most important developmental years. We are looking for someone energetic, organized, and passionate about helping young children learn through play, exploration, and meaningful relationships.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, dependable team player, and confident classroom leader who is excited to create positive experiences for both children and families.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain a safe, clean, welcoming, and engaging classroom environment
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities
- Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
- Foster curiosity, creativity, and hands-on learning experiences
- Manage classroom routines, transitions, and behavior using positive guidance techniques
- Build strong relationships and communicate effectively with families
- Supervise and support assistant teachers within the classroom
- Maintain classroom organization and licensing compliance
- Collaborate with coworkers and administration to create a positive team environment
- Participate in ongoing professional development and continuing education opportunities
Qualifications
- Minimum of 9 ECE college credits required (including 3 credits in Child Growth & Development), or willingness to obtain
- Degree in Early Childhood Education preferred but not required
- Experience working in a licensed childcare center preferred
- Previous classroom leadership experience is a plus
- Strong organizational and classroom management skills
- CPR/First Aid Certification, or willingness to obtain
- Positive attitude, reliability, and strong communication skills
- A genuine passion for early childhood education and child development
