Duties
- Provide attentive care for children across different age groups, including infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and children with special needs or disabilities
- Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote childhood development, early learning skills, and social interaction
- Ensure the safety of all children by adhering to health and safety protocols, including first aid and CPR procedures
- Support behavioral management strategies to encourage positive behavior and emotional regulation
- Maintain open communication with parents or guardians regarding children's progress, routines, and any concerns
- Follow mandated reporting laws by accurately documenting incidents or concerns related to child welfare
- Assist with daily routines such as feeding, diapering, nap times, and outdoor play
Experience
- Proven experience working with children in settings such as daycare centers, preschools, babysitting, nannying, or youth programs
- Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Experience caring for infants and toddlers with specialized needs or disabilities is highly valued
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques suitable for young children
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional training in mandated reporting laws and childhood education is preferred
- Prior classroom experience or daycare experience that highlights your ability to create engaging learning environments
- Experience working with children in diverse settings enhances your ability to adapt to individual needs effectively
