Key Responsibilities Business Intelligence Leadership
- Lead the Business Intelligence function, including analytics, reporting, data modeling, and visualization.
- Partner with executive and operational teams to develop a BI strategy aligned to business objectives.
- Prioritize and manage the BI roadmap, ensuring high-impact delivery and continuous improvement.
- Guide analysts and developers in best practices for structured analysis, modeling, and reporting.
- Act as the product owner for internal data and analytics products, tools, and platforms.
- Gather, document, and refine business requirements through interviews, workshops, and stakeholder engagement.
- Translate business requirements into clear, actionable technical specifications for analysts, engineers, and internal and external business partners.
- Drive backlog creation and prioritization in partnership with technical teams.
- Ensure delivered solutions meet business needs and integrate seamlessly into operational workflows.
- Own and maintain enterprise-wide data definitions, dictionaries, and data governance standards.
- Collaborate with business leaders to align on key metrics, KPIs, and standardized definitions.
- Serve as a data steward, ensuring clarity, consistency, and accuracy across reporting platforms.
- Develop deep understanding of core operational, financial, and analytics systems.
- Influence data model design and data structures within systems to support scalable analytics and downstream reporting.
- Partner with IT, engineering, and vendors to optimize integrations, pipelines, and system-level data quality.
- Own the annual software and technology services budget related to BI, reporting, analytics platforms, and other SaaS platforms.
- Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with software vendors, consultants, and service providers.
- Ensure cost-effective, high-value investments in analytics and data technologies.
- Collaborate closely with Operations, Finance, Product, IT, and Executive teams to deliver insights and shape strategy.
- Advocate for data literacy and promote a culture of data-driven decision-making across the organization.
- 7–10 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Product Management, or related fields.
- Proven experience leading BI teams or large-scale analytics initiatives.
- Strong proficiency in requirements gathering, translating business needs into technical specifications, and managing product roadmaps.
- Familiarity with data modeling, relational databases, and modern BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
- Experience influencing or contributing to data architecture or system data structures.
- Demonstrated success in implementing data governance or managing enterprise data definitions.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to engage senior leadership and technical teams alike.
- Experience managing budgets and vendor contracts preferred.
