WEDO GLS USA CORP is a growing freight forwarding and logistics company strategically located in Carson, CA. We specialize in international freight forwarding and warehousing solutions for importers and exporters across diverse industries. As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a motivated and experienced Import/Export Operations Specialist to join our team.

About the Role

This position is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of import and export shipments moving via ocean, air, and domestic ground transportation. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in freight forwarding operations, trade documentation, and customer communication — and will play a key role in strengthening Wedo GLS's operational capabilities as we grow.

Responsibilities

• Manage import and export shipments end-to-end — from initial booking through final delivery — across ocean, air, and domestic transportation modes.
• Coordinate with ocean carriers, airlines, trucking companies, customs brokers, and other logistics partners to meet service requirements and cost targets.
• Prepare, review, and process trade and shipping documents including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, arrival notices, delivery orders, and entry paperwork.
• Handle required regulatory filings accurately and on time, including ISF, AES, AMS, and bond/in-bond transfer documentation as applicable.
• Monitor shipment status and provide proactive, timely updates to customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders throughout the shipping process.
• Coordinate drayage, port pickups, and last-mile deliveries to ensure cargo reaches its destination within required timeframes.
• Generate customer invoices, shipment reports, delivery orders, and other operational records to support daily logistics activity.
• Obtain freight rates from carriers, truckers, and customs brokers; prepare competitive customer quotations.
• Identify and resolve service failures, cargo discrepancies, damage claims, and shortages promptly and professionally.
• Maintain accurate and organized shipment files and support cross-functional collaboration within the Wedo GLS team.

Qualifications

• Bilingual proficiency in Korean and English is required — the role involves frequent communication with Korean-speaking clients, agents, and partners in both the U.S. and Korea.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple active shipments simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Education & Experience

• Minimum 4 years of experience in freight forwarding, international logistics, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with import and export operations across ocean, air, and domestic transportation modes.
• Experience preparing and reviewing trade documents and handling customs-related filing requirements (ISF, AES, AMS, etc.).
• Experience obtaining carrier rates and preparing customer quotations.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to remain seated at a desk and/or computer workstation for extended periods.
• Repetitive hand use including typing and document handling.
• Ability to lift up to 5 pounds as needed.

Pay range and compensation package

• Competitive annual salary: $60,000 – $80,000 based on experience and qualifications.
