Lab Technician

Position Summary

The Quality Control Technician reports to the Lab Supervisor and is responsible for a variety of tasks in the lab including, but not limited to, the duties listed below. This position would provide on-the-job training, therefore prior experience in a laboratory setting is highly preferred, but may not be required.

Requirements

· Good written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to use a personal computer with basic word-processing and spreadsheet applications

Duties

· Monitors lab supply inventory, inputs production data and other work-output data into appropriate network or departmental database, and maintains documentation in accordance with established procedures.

· Provides analytical reports

· Sample preparation and instrumental analysis for target compound quantification and unknown structure elucidation

· Perform analysis of customer supplied samples.

· Demonstrates ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Directions for Testing (DFT) documents.

· Establishes as appropriate internal/cross-functional/customer relationships.

· Evaluate quality, cost, shipping, and availability of all raw material and submit recommendations concerning suppliers.

· Participates in and contributes to internal/external teams and discussions.

· Performs quality assurance, data interpretation.

· Organizes, conducts, and monitors laboratory compliance activity. Responsible for review and reconciliation of lab audit checklists, and ensuring compliant laboratory practices.

· Demonstrates competence in reading and completing charts, forms, and other documents.

· Perform instrument calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting of instrumentation

Qualifications

· Minimum High School Diploma

· Prior lab or quality control experience preferred, but not required
