What are the responsibilities and job description for the Creative Talent Recruiter — Video/Post-Production position at Wedding Weekender?
Company Description
Wedding Weekender is redefining wedding videography by helping couples capture their wedding weekends in an authentic, affordable way. We rent camcorders for family and friends to film the weekend—then our team organizes the footage and edits it into a wedding video that feels true and unique to each couple's celebrations.
We're a fast-growing, creative start-up building a scalable post-production team to deliver high-quality, on-brand wedding films at volume. Since our launch this year, we've been featured in the New York Times, Vogue Weddings, Martha Stewart Weddings, and more. As we scale, we're looking for a Creative Recruiter to help us build out our freelance editor pipeline and identify creative leadership talent across the US and internationally.
Role Description
This is a contract role, remote-friendly, for a Creative Recruiter at Wedding Weekender. You'll be responsible for sourcing, screening, and building a pipeline of video editing and post-production talent—from freelance editors to creative leadership roles—across both US and international markets.
You'll work closely with the Founder and Director of Post-Production to understand our creative standards and team needs, and you'll own the sourcing and initial screening process end-to-end, surfacing qualified candidates for final review.
Key Responsibilities
Sourcing & Pipeline Building
- Source video editor and post-production talent across LinkedIn, job boards, freelance platforms, and creative communities
- Build and maintain a pipeline of both US-based and international creative talent, understanding the sourcing channels and expectations specific to each market
- Proactively identify passive candidates for creative leadership and post-production–focused roles, not just active applicants
Screening & Evaluation
- Review portfolios, reels, and past work to assess editing quality, storytelling ability, and brand fit
- Conduct initial screening conversations to evaluate experience, availability, rate expectations, and creative judgment
- Surface a shortlist of qualified candidates with clear notes on strengths and fit for each open role
Role & Market Expertise
- Understand the distinct sourcing approaches needed for freelance editors vs. creative leadership hires
- Stay current on where strong editing and post-production talent congregates, both domestically and internationally, and adjust sourcing strategy accordingly
- Advise on competitive rate ranges for different talent tiers and markets
Collaboration
- Partner with the Founder and Director of Post-Production to refine role requirements and creative bar as hiring needs evolve
- Provide regular pipeline updates and sourcing reports
What Success Looks Like
- A consistent, qualified pipeline of freelance editors ready to onboard as volume grows
- Creative leadership roles filled with candidates who meet both the technical and storytelling bar Wedding Weekender requires
- Reduced time-to-fill for open post-production roles
- Clear documentation of sourcing channels and candidate evaluation criteria that the team can reuse for future hiring
Qualifications
- Proven experience recruiting for video editing, post-production, or other creative roles
- Experience sourcing both US-based and international talent, with an understanding of how sourcing channels, rates, and expectations differ across markets
- Experience recruiting for creative leadership roles, not just individual contributor/freelance positions
- Ability to evaluate editing portfolios and reels for quality and brand fit, not just resume keywords
- Strong communication skills and comfort managing multiple open roles and candidate pipelines simultaneously
- Experience recruiting for a startup or fast-moving creative team preferred
- Familiarity with freelance/contractor engagement models (rates, scope, onboarding) is a plus
Compensation
- Contract role; compensation structured as hourly rate, based on experience and engagement type
- Remote-friendly, flexible schedule
- Opportunity for ongoing/recurring engagement as hiring needs continue to grow
- Direct collaboration with the Founder and Director of Post-Production on creative hiring strategy
Salary : $40 - $55
