Payroll Accountant

The position is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely preparation, distribution, and reporting of commission and incentive payrolls. The position will also be responsible for posting payroll related journal entries to the general ledger and reconciling payroll accounts on a monthly basis

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Review, analyze, and distribute payroll data and reports for accuracy and resolve discrepancies to ensure accurate posting
• Review and calculate commission pay and adjustments to the final payouts to employees
• Review incentive payout and communicate with senior management to ensure these are approved and paid timely
• Maintain process documentation of payroll and payroll-related activities
• Post payroll related entries to the general ledger as part of month end close
• Reconcile payroll related general ledger accounts monthly
• Review employee contracts to gather incentive and compensation data for accrual and commission calculation
• Reconcile year-end payroll tax documents for annual 1099 responsibilities
• Perform other duties as required and assigned

• Experience in processing payroll and commission/incentive plans
• Experience in posting journal entries to the general ledger
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Highly organized and able to multi-task and manage multiple projects and competing priorities without sacrificing accuracy or efficiency
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner; ability to work effectively in a team environment with high collaboration

The reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic location. A reasonable estimate of the current hiring range is $55,000- $73,000. Colleagues may be eligible for additional, discretionary incentive compensation based on the colleague's and the firm's performance. Decisions regarding compensation are determined on a case-by-case basis and are dependent on a variety of factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
