What are the responsibilities and job description for the Finance Intern position at WECU?
WECU is seeking a temporary full-time Finance Intern to join our finance team located on-site in Bellingham, WA. This is a full-time, temporary in person position in which you will be scheduled to work 40 hours per week.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with data entry, reconciliation, and maintenance of financial records
- Support monthly and quarterly financial reporting processes
- Compile and analyze financial data for trend analysis and decision support
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities as assigned
- Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and presentations for Finance leadership
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed
- Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives
- Maintain confidentiality of financial and organizational information
- Perform other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
- Prior internship or coursework in finance or accounting preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Excel required; familiarity with other Microsoft Office applications preferred
- Basic understanding of financial and accounting principles
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Willingness to learn and accept feedback

COMPENSATION:
The pay for this position is $22.50 per hour. As it is a temporary role, no benefits are provided.
