Warehouse Technician
Department: Supply Chain
Reports To: Associate Manager of Warehouse
Employment Type: Full-Time / Hourly
Position Summary
The Warehouse Technician is responsible for receiving, storing, testing, staging, and shipping equipment and inventory. This role ensures accurate inventory control, proper handling of sensitive hardware, and timely fulfillment of equipment orders to support field operations and installation teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming equipment (routers, switches, cabling, fiber components, ONTs, etc.) againstdelivery and packing slips.
- Stage, kit, and prepare equipment for field technicians, installations, and project deployments.
- Perform basic testing, configuration, and quality checks on hardware before deployment.
- Maintain accurate inventory records
- Conduct cycle counts and periodic physical inventories; investigate and reconcile discrepancies.
- Process equipment returns (RMAs), including inspection, testing, refurbishment, and proper disposition.
- Pick, pack, and ship outbound orders, ensuring correct labeling and documentation.
- Organize and maintain a clean, safe, and orderly warehouse environment.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Assist with tracking and management of serialized assets for chain-of-custody compliance.
- Coordinate with procurement, field operations, and logistics teams on inventory needs and shipments.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior of warehouse, inventory, or logistics experience (telecom industry preferred).
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift experience.
- Familiarity with telecom equipment and terminology.
- Experience with inventory/warehouse management systems and barcode scanners.
- Basic computer proficiency (email, spreadsheets, data entry).
- Knowledge of fiber optic and copper cabling components.
- Experience handling serialized assets and RMA processes.
Work Environment
Warehouse setting with exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and physical activity. May require occasional overtime to meet project deadlines.
