What is your impact?
As an Intake Coordinator you will be responsible for delivering outstanding customer service for the Precertification and Utilization Department.
Position Hours: 9:00am - 6:00pm CST - Weekend availability (Saturday OR Sunday for 4 hours) which would be deducted from hours worked on following Monday morning.
What Will You Be Doing:
- Obtain and input initial demographics for inpatient and outpatient pre-certification. (25%)
- Responsible for professional interactions telephonically. (25%)
- Screen calls appropriately and work with clinicians to ensure optimal turnaround times. (25%)
- Print, correct and forward reports requested to nurses or supervisor. (5%)
- Responsible for managing all clinical faxes and ensuring all regulatory timelines are met. Must meet all regulatory and compliance requirements for Utilization Management. (15%)
- Identification of any errors within multiple systems utilized and forward to supervisor as indicated. (5%)
Qualifications:
- 2 years related work experience.
- Medical coding/terminology knowledge preferred.
- Call center experience in the health insurance industry preferred.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Professional phone voice and etiquette.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Easily adaptable to a changing environment and can switch between tasks quickly.
