The Town of Webster is hiring a full-time Grounds Equipment Operator for the Parks Department. This 40-hour-per-week position runs Monday through Friday with opportunities for overtime, as well as on-call pay during the winter season. Applicants must meet all Civil Service minimum qualification requirements.
Typical Duties:
- Lawn and grounds work, snow removal, building cleaning and maintenance
- Perform light painting duties as directed.
- Operate commercial mowing and grounds care equipment
- Operate small engine equipment (weed eater, sod cutter, etc.)
- Operate 4-WD pickup with plow, agricultural tractors and small backhoe
- Routine maintenance of equipment and other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2-years landscape, agriculture, or horticulture work experience
- Possession of a valid Class *D* Operator's license issued by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles at time of appointment.
- Ideal candidates will have sports turf and landscape maintenance experience along with additional skills (carpentry, electrical, plumbing, equipment maintenance, etc.)
- Ability to follow direction, to solve problems and to complete work both independently and as a member of a team while being safe.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have a clean driver’s license
- Requires ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors in all weather conditions.
